Join fellow TM meditators as TM teacher, Vidya Schechtman, leads a 2-hour refresher course on Sunday, March 15th 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Mountain View TM Center.
A Refresher is a comprehensive, single-session review of the four-day TM course, including the do's and don'ts of how to meditate correctly; an understanding of the many experiences that can occur during TM practice; questions and answers about personal experiences; and a relaxing group meditation. The refresher lasts about 2 hours. Anyone who has learned TM is welcome to attend.
About Vidya:
Vidya has been teaching Transcendental Meditation for over 20 years in the Bay Area, sharing this time-tested technique with students from all walks of life. She was drawn to TM by its effortless, natural approach and continues to be inspired by how profoundly it supports stress reduction, focus, and inner calm. Vidya has guided thousands of students, including over 3,000 young adults, helping them discover the practical benefits of meditation in their daily lives. Known for her warm, clear, and approachable teaching style, Vidya creates a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable exploring TM, whether they are new to meditation or returning to their practice. She is especially passionate about helping young adults recognize the value of meditation as a tool for clarity, balance, and joy. For Vidya, teaching TM is more than a profession—it’s a way to support individuals in reconnecting with themselves and cultivating a deeper sense of peace in everyday life.

About Matthew:
Matthew has been a teacher of Transcendental Meditation for over 15 years and has been practicing the technique himself for nearly two decades. In addition to teaching at TM Centers, he has shared the TM technique in diverse settings, including high schools, veterans' rehabilitation programs, government institutions, and with health professionals. He is one of the core teachers at the Berkeley TM Center, regularly offering refresher classes and courses throughout the East Bay. Matthew has a special talent for helping students integrate TM into their daily lives, making this technique accessible and practical for modern living. He especially enjoys answering questions and guiding students through challenges in their practice with a calm, patient, and lighthearted approach. His favorite aspect of teaching is seeing the relief and transformation that students experience as they reduce stress and reconnect with themselves.

About Phil:
Phil began practicing Transcendental Meditation in 1966 and became a certified teacher in 1970 after training in Rishikesh, India with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Over his decades of service, he has taught thousands of students across the U.S., including at universities like Yale, UC Berkeley, UCSF, and Arizona State, as well as in rehabilitation centers and correctional institutions. Phil has helped train new TM teachers internationally under the direct guidance of Maharishi and continues to support the Bay Area TM community through his work at the San Francisco Presidio Center. He brings over 50 years of experience and a deep dedication to helping individuals grow through the TM technique. Phil’s mission has always been to uplift individual and collective consciousness, and his teaching is grounded in compassion, clarity, and a lifelong commitment to service.
